This Privacy Policy explains how Unity Plus collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when you visit unityplus.ca, request a demo, subscribe for updates, contact us, or use the Unity Plus platform and related services.
Unity Plus is designed for community engagement, event and venue management, donations, payment records, communications, contacts, and operational insights. Depending on how an organization configures the Services, the platform may process personal information about administrators, staff, donors, members, attendees, volunteers, contacts, and other community participants.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information directly from you, from organizations that use Unity Plus, from your interactions with the Services, and from service providers that help operate the platform.
Information may include:
  • Identity and contact information, such as name, email address, phone number, organization name, role, and mailing address;
  • account information, such as login credentials, user roles, permissions, preferences, and authentication details;
  • community and contact records, such as member, donor, attendee, volunteer, staff, family, group, service, venue, booking, event, campaign, and communication details;
  • transaction and donation records, such as donation amount, payment status, booking fees, collection records, invoices, receipts, refunds, chargebacks, campaign references, and payment processor identifiers;
  • communications, such as demo requests, support messages, feedback, forms, newsletter subscriptions, broadcast records, and message delivery information;
  • technical information, such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, log data, usage activity, cookies, and approximate location derived from IP address;
  • other information you or an organization chooses to provide through the Services.

3. How We Use Information

Unity Plus uses personal information to:
  • provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
  • create and manage accounts, roles, permissions, organizations, contacts, events, bookings, campaigns, payments, and communications;
  • respond to demo requests, inquiries, support requests, and feedback;
  • process transactions, donations, refunds, receipts, payment records, invoices, and related reporting;
  • send service notices, product updates, administrative messages, and permitted marketing communications;
  • monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and protect the rights, safety, and security of Unity Plus, users, organizations, and the public;
  • comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations.

4. Customer-Controlled Information

Organizations using Unity Plus may act as the organization responsible for deciding what personal information is collected and how it is used within their community. In those cases, Unity Plus generally processes the information on behalf of that organization to provide the Services.
If you are a member, donor, attendee, volunteer, or contact of an organization that uses Unity Plus and you have questions about information that organization manages, please contact the organization directly. Unity Plus may need to refer your request to that organization.

5. Donations, Payments, and Financial Data

Where payment or donation features are used, payment details may be processed by third-party payment processors. Unity Plus may receive related transaction information such as payer name, contact details, amount, date, status, transaction identifiers, refund or chargeback status, and campaign or booking reference.
Unity Plus does not intend to store full payment card numbers unless expressly stated in a separate agreement. Payment processors may collect and process payment information under their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Communications and Marketing

If you request a demo, contact us, subscribe for updates, or otherwise opt in, we may send you product updates, articles, materials, announcements, or marketing communications. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by using the unsubscribe mechanism provided or by contacting us.
Organizations using the platform are responsible for ensuring that messages they send through Unity Plus comply with applicable consent, anti-spam, and privacy laws.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Unity Plus may use cookies, pixels, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand site usage, improve performance, and support marketing or security.

8. How We Share Information

  • the organization that manages the relevant account, community, event, booking, campaign, donation, or contact record;
  • service providers that host, process, secure, analyze, support, or maintain the Services, including cloud hosting, analytics, communications, support, email, SMS, payment, and security providers;
  • payment processors and financial institutions as needed to process payments, donations, refunds, chargebacks, compliance checks, and transaction records;
  • professional advisers, insurers, auditors, or legal counsel where reasonably necessary;
  • law enforcement, regulators, courts, or government authorities when required or permitted by law;
  • a buyer, successor, or other party in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

Customer Data retention may depend on the applicable organization's account settings, contract, deletion requests, backups, and legal requirements.

No system is completely secure. You are responsible for using strong passwords, protecting account access, assigning user roles carefully, and promptly notifying Unity Plus of suspected unauthorized access.

Unity Plus is a Canadian platform and, as the operator of unityplus.ca, is subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) for personal information collected in the course of commercial activity. Where an organization using Unity Plus operates in Quebec, that organization's collection and use of personal information may also be subject to Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
